What can cause this error?

What version of NeoFinder are you using?
What version of macOS?
How exactly did you try to rename the files, using the Inspector, the Multi Renamer, or the name field in the Icon View?

NeoFinder 8.1.2
OS12. Final version at the time of original post.
Tried to rename from Inspector pane.
Behavior is the same on the new Ventura OS.

Seems fixed. Tested in several separate instances. All is good.
