How to filter smart folder to exclude camera

Post by TJ Asher »

I would like to have a smart filter for various camera bodies.

I have:
Canon EOS 5D
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon EOS 5D Mark III

Any filter for just the original Canon EOS 5D will also contain all the images for the other two models.

EXIF - 'Camera' contains - Canon EOS 5D is the filter.

There is not 'Camera' does not contain option.

Is there a way to exclude the other two bodies? Perhaps a different type of filter?

Cheers,
TJ

Hello,

the Find Editor currently doesn't support "NOT" searches for EXIF fields...

Here is how I ended up doing it for anyone else wanting this type of filter.

3 smart filter items are needed:

Kind - is - Picture
EXIF - 'Camera' contains - Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Any Text. - regex. - Canon EOS 5D Mark II(?!I)

The last Any Text regex is the real trick. It finds any text with Canon EOS 5D Mark II that is NOT followed by a capital letter i

For my Canon EOS 5D folder the regex is: Canon EOS 5D(?! )
Meaning find all Canon EOS 5D that are NOT followed by a space.

Cheers!
