• added a Metadata sub menu in the item context menu, to group all XMP and metadata

• and we added a new command to write back stored metadata to selected files.
• for JPG files, this also offers the option to repair file metadata with exiftool
• added relative date finds, last x days, last x months for EXIF capture dates, creation and modification dates (files and catalogs).
• also added "date is in season…" for EXIF capture date.
• also, added "has multiple subtitles" and, "has chapters", and "has no chapters"
• also added the new "GPS Altitude above/below" criteria, AND added the GPS altitude to the export for CSV/TXT/XML.
• added "find all catalogs on volume..."
• added new find criteria to obtain un/modified files ("modification date is after or != creation date", "!= EXIF recording date", "!= XMP date")
• added two new default Smart Folders : "Files created in the last two weeks" and "Photos created in the last month"
• added find criteria "Any Text Or Path Contains"
• added support for the new Hasselblad X2D II 100C (RAW/3FR)
• the custom display filter can now filter for "online items", so you can reduce a list of displayed items to those from catalogs whose volumes are currently available and connected.
• added a number of new keyboard shortcuts and main menu icons
• expanded the capabilities in database settings to allow registering new unknown filetypes/extensions by telling abeMeda to treat them like others it already knows
• abeMeda now informs the user about recommended helpers when it is first opened after being installed.
• we also added links to the step-by-step guides in our FAQ on the Helpers sheet in Preferences
• and added a link to the FAQ page in our Help menu
• added support for reading catalog sets in XMP.
• catalog sets can now be shown in Inspector, and used eg in NeoFinder

• the infoTip for movie files will now directly show audios, subtitles and chapters (like "2 audio, 42 subs, 13 chapters")
• new volumeTypes (SD/CF/xD/microSD cards) that users can assign manually.
• added the ability to read FCPX keywords from movie metadata
• now catalogs special Sony video metadata written by the latest camera firmwares in MXF files
• some newer SONY cameras store their additional info in a differently named tag, which our exiftool code did not yet recognize.
• improved error message handling for when catalogs can not be saved correctly, they now give more meaningful information that can help the user and potential later diagnostics.
• improved the handling of the "Show Preview" dialog - this is now less rigid, and can more easily be dismissed or closed
• improved handling and display of CD Audio tracks, especially in found items.
• if (CD)AudioTracks have an ISRC, we will now offer an "find all items with ISRC ..." find command in the item context menu and the Inspector ISRC item
• improved and expanded Photo Export (convert photos)
• you can now not only export photos, but also any other file holding previews (esp. videos, audios, books, comix and pdfs)
• if the stored preview is available and enough for the chosen settings, it is used directly, otherwise the original file is used for direct conversion.
• you can decide to prefer stored cover art for movies over generated thumbnails from the movie file content
• now you can also decide to always only use the stored thumbnails, exporting what is stored in the catalog even if the original files are not or no longer available.
• and you can also choose to copy the source file dates to the exported images, so they reflect the original files
• abeMeda can now use internal XMP data to correctly assign XMP sidecar files to the image file they actually belong to
• helping to solve ambiguous cases where there are eg several image files with the same name and different filetypes/extensions

• abeMeda now better handles and reports issues when editing XMP metadata in images fails

• improved the handling of unavailable media and files when dealing with larger selections.
• the "Removable media required" dialog now allows to skip all unavailable media - instead of requiring you to repeatedly cancel every missing item, or aborting the whole operation.
• e.g. for HTML exports, photo export, contact sheets, geotagging, verifying fileChecks and updating catalogs.
• improved lossless rotation of newer HEIC images
• when images still fail to rotate, you can force a rotation of the thumbnail based on the EXIF orientation flag manually
• added even more, longer intervals to AutoUpdate. you can now also select every 10 days, or every 2, 3, 4 or 5 weeks, if you need to.
• updated to exiftool version 13.42. the installer was adapted to accommodate the different installation necessary for it.
• fixed: issues with rotating found item images and pasting new thumbnails for found items, that would not be correctly reflected in the catalog afterwards
• fixed an issue where changes in catalog folder information were not picked up quickly enough by other instances using the same shared database.
• AutoSync now reacts better to other users changing catalog folders.
• fixed an issue with the default "Music" smartFolder, which did not work correctly.

• fixed a number of issues that could sometimes cause problems for linked catalog files
• fixed: an issue with strings in older ID3 sections (v2.2). ID3 version is now also included in the meDaGen output and logfile for diagnostics.

• fixed: an issue that could seemingly hang the cataloging when canceling a scan during fileCheck generation of huge files
• fixed an issue when creating a "New Catalog Folder" would fail
• fixed several issues where keywords, people, annotations and XMP presets would not correctly react to a read only database folder
• whenever the necessary files can not be used or created in the database folder, they now automatically switch to local storage instead.
• fixed an issue where "Discover Image Sequences" was erroneously active in the stored settings for a catalog update
• fixed some issues with reloading of changed catalog files and improved handling of linked catalogs.
