Hi, I recently licensed NeoFinder and have started to catalogue all my external HDs and SSDs. I currently try to scan my largest HD (8TB) with a lot of photo Raw files on it and told the program to create previews for the images (many of which are in Fuji's RAF format).
Unfortunately the process is so slow that the process of scanning the (according to the NeoFinder Window) 300k files would take a full day, probably more. I estimate it is 3sec per file or so - calculated by the number of files the process does not really make sense....
Is there a way to accelerate it?
scanning large external HDs extremely slow
Re: scanning large external HDs extremely slow
I'd add: What if I interrupt this endless process by hitting "abbrechen" - will it go on at the place where it stopped or start again? It all is so slow that it is hard to clearly see what's going on....

Hello,
what version of NeoFinder are you using?
What version of macOS?
Are the RAF in the compressed format?
Did you check out the special guide for photographers with lots of speed tips?

Hi, hier sind die Antworten:
- Neo FInder 8.1
- Mac OS 12.4
- And yes, I just discovered that the Fujifilm RAF files are compressed (X-T4)
- no I did not check the special guide - I didn't know it exists
